My mother taught me not to accept things as they are just because "that's the way it is". If I had questions, I should ask. If something was not right, I should challenge it. The first time I really challenged authority was in 5th grade, when I thought my teacher's reading program was flawed ("stupid"). I told him how I thought it could be improved. His answer was to flunk me. That was the first time I ever got an "F" grade, in anything!! It was also the last. Challenging authority also requires some tact, which I desperately needed.
She also taught me how to find a good bargain, whether it be food, clothing, or garage sale items. I love finding something on sale that I will eventually use, and I
finding something on sale that I actually NEED!
And I love that she is as interested in digital scrapbooking as I am.

I'm so glad you're doing it! At the end of each month I print it out so my kids can look at it!
